英字新聞を初めて読む学習者や、長文が苦手な学習者にも配慮した時事英語入門テキスト。

日本の代表的英字新聞のひとつであるThe Japan News紙等から20の記事を掲載。英字新聞を初めて読む学生や長文の苦手な学生に配慮し、語数及びトピックの難易度を基に配列し記事、英字新聞の特徴の紹介、四技能を総合的に伸ばし、クリティカルな思考力や自己表現ノートテイキングの力を高めるタスクを盛り込んだ。教授用資料には4回分の試験問題例、補助タスクを用意。
